Brian Culkin

Writer/Director

 

Brian  Francis Culkin is a writer, theorist, and film director. 

 

Prior to being fully committed to developing his his craft as a writer, filmmaker, and artist - Brian graduated from Skidmore College where he was a standout student-athlete. After breaking every scoring record in the school's history, with nearly 1800 points and national accolades, he played professional basketball in Europe for a year after graduation. 

 

Upon playing, and after working briefly in real estate finance, he founded and became managing director/CEO of United Mortgage Group, a commercial and residential mortgage firm where he managed a team of twenty brokers and operational staff from 2004 - 2010.

 

In terms of writing, he has written extensively about topics ranging from contemporary urban gentrification to the history of boxing; the Presidency of Donald Trump to an analysis of 21st century global capitalism; heroin addiction in modern American society to the cultural development of Boston, Massachusetts; the ideology of neoliberal globalization to Amazonian plant medicine; contemporary cinema to human sexuality.

 

His books include The Meaning of Trump, On Heroin, Spontaneous Reflections, Conversations on Gentrification,There is no Such Thing as Boston,Postscript on Boxing, and Hypermodernity and The End of The World. 

He has written and directed three films, including the feature length documentary The Mission, the documentary short Voices, and the short film, Now, Passage.

Cherline Julien

Director of Photgraphy

Cherline Julien is a graduate from the New England Institute of Art with a degree in digital media production. She is the founder and chief creative officer of On1 Magazine, a digital publication that focuses on art, urban life, and  entertainment.  A Cambridge, MA native born to parents of French descent, she is an innovator who looks to create and imbue a sense of  strength and artistic innovation while making a mark in today’s entertainment industry. Cherline is is well known for her skills in video production, marketing, and business management. Her passion is to create and influence the people around her in order to open new doors and take bold steps in creating  new forms of art and  creativity that she believes one day will help people in need, inspire, and change the world.

Jay Giannone

Producer

Jay Giannone is an actor, director, screenwriter, producer, and hip hop artist. Originally from South Boston and currently Los Angeles based, Jay has worked with David O. Russell, Ben Affleck, and Martin Scorcese. 

As an actor, he has appeared in several television shows including the HBO hit series "Entourage" which was based on his real Hollywood life experience with friend Mark Wahlberg. His feature film roles include box office hits "Confidence", "Gone Baby Gone", "Three Kings", "The Game Plan" and "The Departed". 

His recent projects include work on feature films such as Safe, The Iceman, and American Hustle.

Jay comes from a long line of artists and as a native of public housing in Boston he brings a deep passion for the overall message of this project. .
